The purpose of the workshop is to provide homeowners who are concerned with rising mortgage payments or foreclosure with timely, confidential information and objective advice from trained counselors. The workshop will also give homeowners an opportunity to meet with counselors individually to discuss their own circumstances and available options.

“Today, I rise and join my colleague, the Honorable Al Green of Texas, in honoring the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People on the occasion of its 99th anniversary. As we celebrate Black History Month, it is only appropriate that we do so by recognizing our nation’s oldest and largest civil rights organization.

Congressman Steve Cohen remembers the late Congressman Tom Lantos (CA-12). Congressman Lantos, the only Holocaust survivor ever to serve in Congress, died Monday of complications from cancer of the esophagus at Bethesda Naval Medical Center in Maryland. He was 80. He had served the 12th District of California since 1980.
