The Health Resources and Services Administration awarded a competing supplemental grant in the amount of $200,000 to the UT-HSC Boling Center for Developmental Disabilities for a training program and leadership education in neurodevelopmental disorders.

“I am very pleased to announce this huge contract for FedEx from USTRANSCOM,” said Congressman Cohen. “FedEx is second to none when it comes to providing global shipping, transport and logistics needs, so it is no surprise that the Department of Defense awarded them this contract. This contract will strengthen FedEx, and that is good for Memphis.”

“Isaac Hayes was a dear friend and supporter and I miss him profoundly” said Congressman Cohen. “He departed much too soon but left behind a remarkable musical legacy as well as host of friends and a loving family. Isaac’s artistic contributions, his encouragement of his fellow musicians and his support of young people will secure his place in history.”

As we mark the seventh anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, we remember the thousands of innocent men, women and children who lost their lives on that day, and we extend our sympathies to their families, friends, and loved ones. We also continue to honor the heroic service, actions, and sacrifices of those first responders, law enforcement personnel, volunteers, and others who risked their lives to aid the innocent victims of this horrific act of terror.

Dr. Taylor’s research revolves around neurodegenerative disease, a condition in which cells of the brain and spinal cord are lost. He has stated, “The principal goal of our research is to reduce the morbidity and mortality associated with neurodegenerative disease.”
