WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN), a senior member of the House Judiciary Committee, today praised the use of DNA evidence to win a conviction against the perpetrator of an 18-year-old rape that occurred in southwest Memphis.

The Digital Goods and Services Tax Fairness Act ensures that digital goods and services are not taxed at a higher rate than their tangible counterparts.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen late yesterday sent a letter to the Shelby County Election Commission about its procedures for processing applications following the Commission's assertion that 55 percent of the voter applications it had received were invalid. WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), a senior member of the House Aviation Subcommittee, hailed today's Senate passage of the bipartisan Cohen-Kinzinger Seat Egress in Air Travel (SEAT) Act as part of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reauthorization bill that now heads to the President's desk. The SEAT Act requires the FAA to establish minimum seat size and distance between rows of seats on commercial aircraft to protect the safety of the flying public.
