WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded research grants totaling $680,000 to the Memphis Health Center, Christ Community Health Services, Inc. and the Tri-State Community Health Center. All grants are being awarded through the HHS's Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded research grants totaling $1,515,998 to the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

"The research done at UTHSC and St. Jude keeps Memphis a leader in medical research and funding from HHS is key to maintaining that," said Congressman Cohen.

HHS allocates millions of dollars for medical research each year through its various institutes and research centers.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) applauded House passage today of a bill he introduced that designates the U.S. Postal Service facility at 1320 Autumn Avenue as the "Judge Russell B. Sugarmon Post Office Building." He made the following statement:
