WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9), a senior member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, today announced a $500,000 grant from the Federal Railroad Administration’s (FRA) Corridor Identification and Development program, or Corridor ID program, for the proposed passenger rail corridor linking Atlanta, Chattanooga, Nashville and Memphis.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) went to the House floor to pay tribute to the late First Lady Rosalynn Carter during a special hour of speeches devoted to praising her organized by the dean of the Georgia Congressional delegation, Sanford Bishop. WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Parliamentary Assembly’s Special Representative for Political Prisoners, today condemned the extended detention of Radio Free Europe-Radio Liberty editor Alsu Kurmasheva and called for her immediate release. Kurmasheva is a dual Russian-American citizen employed by the radio network funded by the American government and was arrested for failing to register as a foreign agent.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9), the Ranking Member of the Aviation Subcommittee, today addressed the need for a long-term Reauthorization of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and questioned expert witnesses about the negative ramifications of continuing to extend short-term bills.
