WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that St. Jude Children's Research Hospital will receive two grants from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and a third from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS). One of the NCI grants, for $444,265, will support research into acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The other NCI grant, for $227,140, will underwrite training in pediatric immunotherapy.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), a senior member of the Judiciary Committee, voted late Wednesday night to advance an assault weapons ban to the full House of Representatives. During debate on the measure, Congressman Cohen engaged his Republican colleagues in debate, arguing their defense of such weapons involves the anticipation of a civil war. In his remarks, he referred to Committee members Greg Steube or Florida and Chip Roy of Texas.

The measure would upgrade defense cooperation with Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova and create a "Major Democratic Ally" status, strengthening our military and defense ties, allowing us to call them allies.
