WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN) honored the life and legacy of Dr. Dorothy I. Height on the House floor. Known as the “Godmother of Civil Rights,” the legendary leader passed this morning at Howard University Hospital.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN) urged small businesses in the 9th Congressional District to take advantage of a new tax break -- the Small Business Health Care Tax Credit -- available under the recently enacted health care reform law. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) today began mailing postcards to small businesses to inform them of the tax credit and how to utilize it.
“Now is the time to be counted,” said Congressman Cohen. "The form takes just a few minutes to fill out and all answers are confidential. Completing and returning the form is a simple yet important step towards guaranteeing that Memphis receives its fair share of federal funds for our schools, roads and the MED. Submitting Census forms will go a long way toward helping our community.”
