WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN) today voted to support the Small Business Lending Fund Act (H.R. 5297) – legislation that would help small businesses grow and create jobs.
“Small businesses are the backbone of our economy,” said Cohen. “Small businesses have generated more than 60 percent of new jobs during the past 15 years. Supporting small businesses will help us create jobs during one of our country’s most tough economic times.”
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN-9) today announced the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded the Memphis Housing Authority (MHA) more than $10 million for capital and management activities that include modernization and development of public housing. The funds were made available through HUD’s Capital Fund Program.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN-9) today announced the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) has awarded $200,000 to the University of Memphis’ Karnak Hypostyle Hall Project.
“The Karnak Hypostyle Hall Project seeks to document one of the greatest architectural wonders of its era,” said Congressman Cohen. “With this grant, the University of Memphis will continue to be a national leader in the study of the architecture and culture of Ancient Egypt.”
