WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced that St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will receive a grant of $252,285 as an Institutional National Research Service Award from the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute. The funding will support Basic and Translational Research Training in Pediatric Classical Hematology.

MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced that the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) will receive two grants from tow National Institutes of Health totaling $1,213,557. The first, for $754,446, is from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for research on the microbiome. The second, for $459,111, is from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, for research on a “Novel Pharmacological Approach to Stroke Neuroprotection.”
