WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation has agreed to a change in Memphis’ recent Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) IV grant that will redirect approximately $5.6 million to improvements in downtown Memphis. Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood agreed to this change yesterday while on a call with Congressman Cohen.
WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Rep. Ed Whitfield (KY-01), and Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN-09), today introduced H.R. 6388, the Horse Protection Act Amendments of 2012. The Amendment will make changes to the Horse Protection Act of 1970 to provide additional protection to prohibit the soring of horses, an abusive practice used by some horse trainers in the Tennessee Walking Horse industry.

MEMPHIS, TN – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today hosted a ‘Welcome Home’ reception for Army Sergeant Major Marvin Hill at his District Office. Command Sergeant Major Marvin Hill is a Memphian who recently retired from having served as Command Senior Enlisted Leader for International Security Assistance Force and United States Forces – Afghanistan. Congressman Cohen also presented Command Sergeant Major Hill with a proclamation for his service.
