[WASHINGTON, DC] – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, today announced that he plans to offer his Seat Egress in Air Travel (SEAT) Act (H.R. 4490) as an amendment to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Reauthorization bill. FAA Reauthorization bill is scheduled to be marked up by the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee on Thursday. The SEAT Act would direct the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to establish minimum seat size standards for the safety and health of airline passengers.

[MEMPHIS, TN] – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today welcomed the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) decision to abate the Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) contract of Warren Apartments, Tulane I Apartments, and Tulane II Apartments due to owner’s default. Warren and Tulane apartments are owned by the Global Ministries Foundation (GMF). Pursuant to the HAP Contracts and HUD regulations, GMF is required to maintain the units in a decent, safe, and sanitary manner but has failed to do so.
