MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that Memphis Health Center Inc. will receive a $5,039,393 grant from the Department of Health and Human Services' Health Resources and Service Administration.
Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), Co-Chairman of the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe, also known as the Helsinki Commission, today condemned Russian war crimes in Ukraine at a hearing entitled "Russian War Crimes in Ukraine."

MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the South Memphis Renewal Community Development Corporation will receive a $1.5 million grant from the Department of Labor's YouthBuild Program to support the development of apprenticeship and other career pathway models that prepare underserved young adults (16-24 years) who are not currently in school for jobs in construction and other in-demand industries.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), Co-Chairman of the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe, also known as the Helsinki Commission, today spoke from the floor and voted for the Ukraine Democracy Defense Lend-Lease Act, which he and the Commission's Ranking Member Joe Wilson (SC-02) introduced in the House last month.
The vote on passage was 417 to 10.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today questioned an official from the U.S. Geological Survey's Ecosystem program about a mysterious illness that has killed 85 wild horses at a Bureau of Land Management facility in Colorado in less than a week. The questions were raised at a Committee on Natural Resources hearing entitled "Preventing Pandemics through U.S. Wildlife-borne Disease Surveillance."

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), a senior member of the Judiciary Committee, today questioned Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas about Ukrainian refugees, including children brought to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis for treatment. He also expressed his concern for Afghan interpreters awaiting entry into the U.S.
