Congressman Cohen Supports Veto Override of the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Bill

Washington, D.C. - Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) will host a Town Hall Meeting from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, October 20 at LeMoyne-Owen College’s Alma C. Hanson Student Center, 807 Walker Avenue. Special guest will be Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, II (MO-5).

Washington, D.C. – As recalls of toys and consumer products mount, Congressman Steve Cohen (D-09) backed a package of legislation to help ensure the products that our children use are completely safe and reliable and pledged to support additional efforts to ban lead from toys and other children’s products, protect consumers and strengthen the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Steve Cohen voted for H.R. 2895, the National Affordable Housing Trust Fund Act of 2007. This legislation passed the U.S. House of Representatives by a vote of 264-148.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) returned to Washington from a Congressional fact-finding mission to Iraq. Congressman Cohen and four other members of Congress attended military briefings in Qatar, Iraq, Jordan, and then visited wounded soldiers at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center at Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany. During the mission, Congressman Cohen met with many soldiers, including several from Tennessee.
