Congressman Steve Cohen Manages Debate on the Floor for H.Con.Res 289 - Honoring and praising the NAACP on the occasion of its 99th anniversary.
Congressman Steve Cohen remembers the late Congressman Tom Lantos (CA-12). Congressman Lantos, the only Holocaust survivor ever to serve in Congress, died Monday of complications from cancer of the esophagus at Bethesda Naval Medical Center in Maryland. He was 80. He had served the 12th District of California since 1980.
The MDRC will be open daily at the Hickory Hill Community Center, 3910 Ridgeway Rd., Memphis, TN 38115; from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. until further notice.
“Tobacco use continues to put a huge strain on the health care industry, causing hundreds of thousands of deaths each year in the U.S.,” said Congressman Cohen. “I am extremely grateful that St. Jude has committed members of their all-star scientific research team to investigate new treatments for nicotine addiction, and the HHS should be commended for recognizing their efforts.”
