MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will provide $17,198,284 in federal funding to the City of Memphis for Public Assistance Alternate Procedures (PAAP) debris removal operations as a result of the severe winter storm of February 2-4, 2022. The funding is authorized under Section 428 of the Robert T. Stafford Act.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced two National Institutes of Health grants totaling $1,312,806. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will receive $890,694 from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases to study the interaction between T-cell receptors and the peptide-major histocompatibility complex (MHC).

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today reintroduced the Housing Accountability Act, legislation that would hold property owners of low-income housing accountable for poor living conditions. Specifically, the legislation would require residents of private properties that have Section 8 Housing Assistance Payment contracts to be surveyed twice a year to determine the existence of persistent problems with a property’s physical condition or management.
