MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), Chairman of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, today called upon Attorney General William Barr to publicly correct false statements he made in a CNN interview regarding alleged fraudulent mail-in voting. Barr's office has acknowledged he cited a non-existent federal indictment and mischaracterized the facts of a minor state prosecution in Texas.

MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), a senior member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, today announced $64.6 million in Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grants to Memphis International Airport. The funding is for Phase 2 construction of an ongoing de-icing project and for improvements to jet bridges over three years beginning October 1. More than $2.3 million of the de-icing funding comes from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act that became law in March.

MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the City of Memphis will receive a $38,011 Fire Prevention and Safety grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The grant is intended to reach high-risk groups and reduce injuries caused by fires.

"This funding is a smart investment in fire prevention, and I know Memphis will use it wisely. Firefighters save lives and property and are the indispensable heroes always prepared to keep our community safe."

MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), the Chairman of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, this evening wrote to Attorney General William Barr asking that Memphis federal law enforcement officials be included in the Justice Department's body-worn camera pilot program. The request comes days after U.S. Marshals shot a Memphis teenager in an incident in which cameras were not in use.
