MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9), who served in the state legislature for 24 years before being elected to Congress in 2006, today attended the Shelby County Commission Special Meeting called to reinstate State Representative Justin J. Pearson, and made the following statement:

WASHINGTON – Congressmen Steve Cohen (TN-9) and Joe Wilson (SC-02), the Ranking Member and Chairman of the U.S. Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe, today wrote to Secretary of State Antony Blinken seeking the State Department’s assistance in freeing Washington Post journalist Vladimir Kara-Murza, currently unlawfully detained in Russia by the Putin regime.
The letter reads in part:

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today closely followed the debate and vote of the Tennessee General Assembly expelling state Representatives Justin Pearson and Justin Jones and its failure to expel Representative Gloria Johnson based on their breach of decorum in the House Chamber last week, and made the following statement:
