WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) will receive a $203,280 research grant from the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases.
Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today wrote to Tennessee Valley Authority CEO Jeffrey Lyash about plans to transition away from coal-fired electricity generation by building a new fossil gas plant, which would require the construction of a new gas pipeline. Congressman Cohen urged a re-thinking of the plan and an increased focus on clean, renewable energy.
The letter reads in part:

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) tonight voted for nearly $40 billion in aid to Ukraine, including $8.7 billion to replenish stocks of U.S. equipment sent to the war-ravaged country.

MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today held an event in his office in the Odell Horton Federal Building to celebrate with representatives of the 10 community projects for which he secured funding. The $11,701,000 secured in the FY22 Federal Spending bill is the most Tennessee's 9th Congressional District has ever received through the appropriations process.

MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that Memphis Health Center Inc. will receive a $5,039,393 grant from the Department of Health and Human Services' Health Resources and Service Administration.
