WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) plans to vote on the Infant Formula Supplemental Appropriations Act tonight to address the acute shortage of infant formula caused by a supply disruption in Michigan. This supplemental appropriations bill provides $28 million in emergency funding for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), providing FDA the resources it needs to address the current urgent infant formula shortage and to help prevent it from ever happening again.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), a senior member of the Judiciary Committee, today questioned expert witnesses at a hearing entitled "Revoking Your Rights: The Ongoing Crisis in Abortion Care Access."
In his questions, Congressman Cohen said an effort is under way to outlaw abortion in all 50 states, and continued:

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), a senior member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, announced that $1.7 billion from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) has been allocated to Tennessee in the six months since President Biden signed it into law. Congressmen Cohen and Jim Cooper (TN-05) were the only members of the Tennessee Congressional Delegation who voted for the measure.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today spoke from the House floor in favor of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act and later voted for it. The measure contains his amendment ensuring that subject matter experts in local agencies, local educators, and community leaders can be included on workforce development boards.
The vote on passage was 220 to 196.

WASHINGTON -- Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the Shelby County Board of Education will receive a supplemental grant of $12,984,549 for Head Start programs from the Department of Health and Human Services.

WASHINGTON – Congressmen Steve Cohen (TN-09) and John R. Curtis (UT-03) today wrote to President Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken recommending sanctions against the Deposit Insurance Agency of Russia for its actions protecting sanctioned oligarchs and targeting Kremlin opponents. Congressman Cohen is the Co-Chairman of the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe, also known as the Helsinki Commission.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that the Memphis Light, Gas and Water Division (MLGW) will receive $1,272,769 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), as authorized under Section 406 of the Robert T. Stafford Act, for permanent utility restoration work after February's severe winter storms.
