WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) has written to David Connor, general manager of Sterilization Services of Tennessee (SST), seeking the company’s swift reduction in toxic ethylene oxide emissions from its facility in Memphis. The chemical is used to sterilize medical equipment and was last year determined to be more hazardous than previously known.

MEMPHIS – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9), a senior member of the Judiciary Committee, today applauded U.S. District Judge Thomas Parker’s ruling that Tennessee’s Adult Entertainment Act restricting drag performances is unconstitutional.

While there was much in the measure that he didn’t like, such as a rollback of environmental regulations and added work requirements for SNAP recipients, he said, “As Members of Congress, we have tough decisions to make.”
