WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today commemorated Tom Lee Day, recalling the courage and heroism of Mr. Lee, who rescued 32 people from the capsized M.E. Norman on this day in 1925.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand of New York responded to Tuesday’s announcement that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has named 16 members to a new Advisory Committee on Underrides Protection and published an advanced notice of proposed rulemaking side underride guards, both of which were provisions they advanced as part of the Stop Underrides Act in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.

WASHINGTON -- Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-9) today announced that the University of Memphis will receive a $433,349 grant from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences for a project entitled “Effect of ambient heat on chronic kidney disease and end-stage kidney disease among U.S. veterans” under the direction of School of Public Health Assistant Professor Abu Mohammed Naser Titu.
